Andreas Hofmann (PhD)

ME IN PERSON

After graduating summa cum laude from Technical University of Munich in Robotics and Automation Technology, I changed to RWTH Aachen University, another of the top-three technical schools in Germany. During my five years with the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives I worked as a research associate on electrical-drives projects alongside with our clients in the international automotive industry. My field of interest covered designing and simulating e-machines, building inverters, and developing acoustically oriented drive control strategies.

After doing my PhD with distinction and RWTH acknowledging my outstanding academic track record, I found the perfect link between robotics and electrical drives. I came on board with the RoboDrive team where I had the honor to work for four years with the best 48V servo motors one could find on the market at the time. I started as product manager, was named technical manager, and finally switched over to development where I became the lead engineer behind the RoboDrive Technology.

In 2019, I founded SERVOneering, a Tier-1 supplier for robot actuators. We design and produce joint modules for all kinds of robot OEMs.
